Happy Black History Month
In Honor of Black History month, The Jarratt house on Pocahontas Island is one steeped in history, standing as the oldest building in one of the oldest Black communities in America. The brick house is about 200 years old and has belonged to the same family for about a century: The Jarratt’s. Hello Pathways Family! I am Rynisha Speller, and I am the current AmeriCorps VISTA serving at Pathways. I am thrilled to start blogging at Pathways as I continue my service here in Petersburg. As an AmeriCorps VISTA, I focus on indirect service, meaning I do work that is capacity building and support the services that Pathways provides. I am so excited to share more of what it means to be a VISTA through this blog and discuss all the extraordinary work done at Pathways. I am
