AmeriCorps

The purpose of AmeriCorps is to engage individuals in direct service and capacity-building to address community needs. Members can serve full- or part-time, for one year or during the summer. Activities include tutoring youth, building/revitalizing homes, and program assistance.

Full-time AmeriCorps members receive a modest living allowance, health care benefits, and child care assistance. After completing their term of service, they also earn a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award that can be used to pay for college or graduate school, or to repay student loans.
